The World Trade Center Banshee?

An eerie, unsettling sound is coming from One World Trade Center and has been giving New York residents sleepless nights for a few years now. The strange haunting sound was first reported at the time of Hurricane Sandy and has been heard several times since.

Sounds very much like the description of the Banshee. The Irish supernatural entity associated with death which wails its mournful cry. The sound has even made major news reports.

As if there is not enough esoteric high-strangeness connected with the 9/11 events already, it just so happens that a piece of Irish banshee country is right next to the World Trade Center site. The Irish famine memorial which started construction a few months before the 9/11 attacks. The site referred to by the Irish as 'An Gorta Mor' in Gaelic - the economic genocide which killed over a million people in Ireland between 1845 and 1852.

The old Irish ruin and landscape was transplanted from the heart of banshee country in rural County Mayo in Ireland and placed very close to the original World Trade Centre in lower Manhattan. Construction of the memorial began in March 2001, and the memorial was completed and dedicated on July 16, 2002. In other words, it began prior to the 9/11 attack and was completed after the attacks. The very events of 9/11 would be sonically and energetically implanted into the stones of the ruined famine cottage as much as the memory of the horrors of the Irish famine.

Has a Banshee mourning the murder of nearly 3,000 people on September 1, 2001 taken up residence in the new World Trade Center One? You have to wonder.

  1. Sounds like construction. Cutting and welding?

  2. Debunk alert!! The eerie scream of the banshee in Ireland is more than likely the hunting cry of the common barn-owl which is particularly blood-curdling. I believe that there is a lot of mysterious things in the world that can't be explained but I'm sorry to say that this isn't one of them.
